Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 11/11

Dear Lord, Today we honor our veterans, worthy men and women who gave their best when they were called upon to serve and protect their country. We pray that you will bless them for their unselfish service in the continual struggle to preserve our freedoms, our safety, and our country’s heritage, for all of us.

Hello preschool parents,

Our preschool’s service learning project was announced at the morning assembly. The “Socks for Veterans” wagon is in the main school lobby. We will be collecting NEW socks for women and men who have served in our country. The preschoolers watched a video explaining why and who we honor on Veteran’s Day.

We had a fun week learning the different modes of transportation this week and will continue our “On the Go” projects this coming week.

Our preschool class is at 50% for the Annual Fund Drive. Although this fundraiser is voluntary if we have 100% participation the preschool class will earn a pizza party and free dress! Please consider asking family or friends to donate. Here is the link: onecau.se/spartanfund Thank you!

Enjoy the three day weekend!

Peace, Ms. Grace and Miss Rosie

Preschool Weekly Update – week of 11/4/25

Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus, fill our hearts with peace and joy this November. Help us to carry a calm spirit and radiate joy to those around us. – Unknown

Dear preschool parents,

Happy November! Today we attended an “All School Mass” and Adoration for the first time this school year. The children were on their best behavior and reverent. We even had two saints among us! Isaac was Saint Francis and Liliana was Saint Joan of Arc.

We have completed our first week of “On the Go.” November is a busy and short month for us. We have our class service learning project, Socks for Vets, and our Thanksgiving projects. More information to follow.

Time to fall back: Standard Time returns on Sunday.

On a personal note, I want to thank you for your kind words, generous birthday gift card, orchid, and morning coffee. The children and Miss Rosie made me a beautiful birthday card. I am blessed.

Have a great weekend!

Peace, Ms. Grace and Miss Rosie

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 10/28

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better” – Maya Angelou

Hello parents,

This “growth mindset” quote is one of my favorites. It speaks to the young child and adults. Our preschoolers are encouraged to practice independence at school and at home. This quote supports those efforts.

Our new theme for the month of November is “On the Go!” The newsletter detailing the subject matter is in your Friday envelope.

We will be attending our first, All School Mass, on Friday. This is the “All Saint’s Day” celebration. The preschoolers will be sitting in the annex room. We ask parents who will be attending this mass to sit with the congregation at the back of the church. Thank you.

Your child’s, October, project portfolio is being sent home today. Enjoy!

Here are the guidelines for our preschool’s participation in the school’s Halloween festivities. On Thursday, October 31st, we will meet at assembly near the 4 square area. A parent or adult caregiver must walk with your child during the school parade. Your child will be signed in after the parade. Your child’s backpack can be left by the preschool door before you walk over to the assembly. IMPORTANT: Make sure your child can remove their costume to use the potty. Please practice this at home.

Have a restful weekend!

Peace, Ms. Grace and Miss Rosie

Preschool Weekly Update -week of 10/21

Breathing in, I am still water. I reflect the sky faithfully. Look, I have a full moon within my heart….

( from the poem “Breathing”)

Hello parents,

This poem from, Thich Nhat Hanh, came to mind when the children and teachers were talking about the very bright moon last night.

We will be finishing up our month long theme of “Orchard Harvest” this week. We will be exploring the skins and shells that come from fruits and nuts. Today the preschoolers made their afternoon snack! They made apple turnovers with freshly picked green apples from my tree. The classroom smells wonderful!

Here are the guidelines for our preschool’s participation in the school’s Halloween festivities. On Thursday, October 31st, we will meet at assembly near the 4 square area. A parent or adult caregiver must walk with your child during the school parade. Your child will be signed in after the parade. Your child’s backpack can be left by the preschool door before you you walk over to the assembly. IMPORTANT: Make sure your child can remove their costume to use the potty. Please practice this at home.

Thank you all for meeting with me last week for Parent/Teacher conferences. Together we can help your child/ren be their best selves!

Have a restful weekend.

Peace, Ms. Grace and Miss Rosie

Preschool Weekly Update – week of 10/7

Isaiah 40:31 Patience starts with ourselves and the practice of working to quietly endure even minor nuisances.

Hello Parents,

The preschoolers were working hard to stay cool this week. We are fortunate to have one of the cooler classrooms in the school, but the heat did limited our outdoor play. Our friend, Bear, is helping us with practicing patience and we needed extra helpings of that this week.

Our conference week starts on Tuesday, October 8th. To help us schedule our afternoons, please let us know approximately what time your child will be picked up. You can use the comment section on our sign-in sheet to write it down.

Progress reports go home today. Please write down any questions you may have and we can discuss them during our parent/teacher conference.

Have a restful weekend!

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 9/30

Autumn Months

Remind us that it is You who give us the breath of life. May the harvest from the fields remind us of the abundance we have been given and bounty we are to share with others. May the dying of summer’s spirit remind us of your great promise that death is temporary and life is eternal.

Happy Autumn!

We have completed our month long study of “Friends and Feelings”. Some of the children’s classwork from this month will be shared with you during your child’s parent/teacher conference.

Our new month’s theme is “Orchard Harvest”. You will find the family newsletter for this month’s featured concepts in your family envelope.

Friday, October 4th is the Feast of St. Francis. Preschoolers should bring a picture of their family pet or their favorite animal stuffy to be blessed. Miss Rosie and I will meet you at assembly, with our roster, to check in the children. We will walk into the classroom together after the blessing.

Have a restful weekend!

Peace, Ms Grace and Miss Rosie

“As we go about our day, we pray that you would help us to be intentional about showing kindness to others. Whether it’s a smile, a kind word, or a simple act of service, may we be a reflection of your love and grace”

Hello parents,

This week we will be exploring the act of caring for others, our planet and ourselves. We will introduce the letter “T” and continue our random acts of kindness.

In just four short weeks, the children have really stepped up to the challenge of our morning routine! Backpacks are unloaded and put away, the morning toys are cleaned up and everyone is ready for our calendar time review. Well done preschoolers!

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 9/9

WELCOME, SEPTEMBER!

Brighter days are waiting for us this month. Let us embrace all of the blessings that await us!

Hello preschool families,

It was a busy week for our preschoolers. We had a full schedule plus an added Maker Space class to make our “Unity” buttons. A big “Thank you!” to Miss Kristen for including preschool in this fun project. The road construction on Thursday was so fun to watch! The children were able to watch the workers at street level from our front windows!

We have completed our first week of our themed curriculum, “Making Friends”. This week we will explore our feelings. We check in every morning with how we are feeling. Our chart has a happy, sad, scared, mad, sleepy and surprised face to choose from. Some preschoolers pick a couple of emotions. We introduced our forrest friend, Rabbit, who is teaching us the virtue of kindness. We have also started our letter and word board with the letter “F”.

A reminder that “Picture Day” is Tuesday, September 10th. Please dress your child in their white shirt and blue sweatshirt/sweater.

Have a great weekend!

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 9/3

Jesus,
You became one of us and labored as a carpenter. You ask all people — whatever our state of life — to follow you faithfully.

Holy Spirit,
Bless all  workers this Labor Day. May all our actions be animated by Your love, as we do all things for the glory of God.
– Amen

Hello preschool families,

Thank you for attending our, “Back to School Night.” It is always special when we come together as a community to share our goals and commitment to all our SPN students.

We will be starting our, September, “Friends and Feelings” curriculum when we return on Tuesday. In this month’s theme, we will explore our feelings, making friends and kindness. At the end of the month we will send your child’s work portfolio home.
