Preschool Weekly Update – week of 9/29
“A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows”.
– St Francis of Assisi
Good Evening,
We’ve wrapped up our September curriculum on “Family and Pets”, and the children had a great time—especially making their own “people kibble”! (And yes, the Scooby Snacks were made for humans!)
Next up: our new theme “Down on the Farm” begins this month, and we’re excited to explore it with your preschoolers.
Portfolios will be sent home during Parent-Teacher Conferences, so be sure to attend your scheduled time.

FUN FAIR!!!
Hello Preschool Parents,
We had a wonderful week exploring our theme of “Family Pets”—it was a big hit with the preschoolers! They especially loved bringing home their special projects. Next, we’ll be wrapping up the month with our new theme: “Friendly Traits.”
We hope you’ve had a chance to view your child’s school pictures—they turned out absolutely adorable!
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up, and we are now booking appointments. Please use the link below to reserve your time slot. Note: Conferences are for adults only.

A quick request from Mrs. Hall and me:
Please take a moment to talk with your child about the importance of not copying others—both peers and teachers—during class. This behavior has become a bit of a distraction, and your support in addressing it is greatly appreciated.
Finally, don’t forget:
The St. Philip Neri – St. Albert the Great Fun Fair is happening this Saturday, 9/20!
Wishing you a fantastic weekend!
Peace, Ms. Grace and Mrs. Hall

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 9/15
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood” – Mr. Rogers
Hello Parents,
We had a wonderful week exploring our feelings and learning how to express them in positive, healthy ways. With the guidance of parents, caregivers, and teachers, we’re helping our little ones grow in their understanding of emotions.
Next week, we’ll begin our unit on “Family Pets.” This is always a fun topic—even for children who don’t have pets at home! We have been sending home the “I Spy” alphabet worksheet for parents/caregivers to help reinforce letter recognition.
We do have a few reminders where your support at home can make a big difference:
- Please remind your child that we keep our hands to ourselves. Our young learners can get a bit overexcited during play.
- Mrs. Hall and I encourage the children to advocate for themselves and use their words when they’re uncomfortable with something.
- During snack and lunch, children should remain seated and take small, careful bites while eating.
- We also ask that children listen carefully and follow directions when walking to and from the play structure and garden.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Looking ahead:
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held during the second week of October. A link to sign up for conference times will be sent out soon. Please note that Preschool will close early at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 10th. Regular hours will remain in place for the rest of the week.
Have a great weekend,
Ms. Grace and Mrs. Hall

“Children are not merely vessels into which facts are poured… Children bring all of themselves, their feelings, and their experiences to the learning” – Mr. Rogers
Hello Preschool Families,
This week, we’re inspired by a thoughtful quote from Mr. Rogers as we begin learning about feelings. The children will explore what makes us feel happy, sad, silly, and more through stories, discussions, and hands-on projects.
A few reminders:

- Please send your child with a nap roll or blanket for rest time.
- Be sure to pack your child’s snack separately from their lunch.

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 8/18
Better Together
Hello Preschool Families,
We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Hall to our 2025–2026 Preschool family! Our first day of school will be Tuesday, August 19th, with a noon dismissal and no afternoon preschool care.
The first day can be a big transition—sometimes with a few tears (from children and parents!), and that’s completely okay. We understand that for some preschoolers, this may be their very first time away from parents or caregivers, and we’re here to make the day as gentle and joyful as possible.
Starting Wednesday, August 20th, please send your child with their classroom supplies, a nap roll (if they’ll be resting with us), and a healthy lunch along with a morning snack to keep their tummies full and energy high for learning and play.
The Preschool Calendar for August and September is posted below. Please note that there are two days during these months with noon dismissals and no afternoon preschool care.
We can’t wait to see those bright smiles on Tuesday!
Peace, Ms. Grace and Mrs. Hall

Slow down my restless heart and fill me
